With 11 presses over 1000 tons, and the largest at 4400 tons of clamp tonnage, i2-tech engineers and operators are the experts at producing parts up to 45 pounds. Let us help you design large parts that will work for you in the real world. Each press is equipped with a state-of-the-art robot, to maximize repeatability, and enhance the cosmetic properties of your part. While the press is making the part the robot can be de-gating, trimming or finishing the previous part to enhance efficiency.
All new plastic injection molds built by i2-tech undergo an intense mold trial and qualification process to ensure all part dimensions are correct and the mold functions properly. i2-tech utilizes scientific injection molding to establish consistent, repeatable plastic injection molding process parameters to control the molding process and ensure consistent quality parts are produced at a lower overall cost. Our Quality department is equipped with the latest and most advanced measurement technology which enables us to condense the amount of time required to measure and analyze new customer parts. This helps us achieve best in class delivery times on new mold approvals.
With a staff of over 130 years combined experience, i2-tech has the right combination of tools and knowledge to assist our customers in making plastic solutions that are efficient and profitable. We have successfully managed numerous mold transfer programs, including over 200 molds from May to July of 2020. With the help of our Customers and Suppliers, we demonstrated the ability to inspect, integrate, sample, and obtain part approval within just a few weeks, all while maintaining existing customer pricing.
i2-tech has over 15 years of experience building plastic injection molds in low cost countries and has a dedicated mold building and tooling facility in Shenzhen, China. Molds are built to US standards with US program management, using only but the highest quality German steel. Molds are built and sampled in China, with the final part approval completed at our Iowa manufacturing facility. Additional capabilities include de-gating fixture design & build, as well as rapid prototyping utilizing our Stratasys 3D printer.
Our customers consider us an extension of their manufacturing operations, providing them an integrated, streamlined, turnkey, cost-effective manufacturing process for assemblies through finished products. We offer a wide variety of energy efficient precision electric & servo – hydraulic injection molding machines ranging from 55-4400 tons. As a strong manufacturing partner, we are able to take on large projects and complex applications. Leveraging both our vast capabilities and resources, we do whatever it takes to support projects of all sizes, across a range of industries.
i2-tech’s Quality department has the ability to condense the amount of time required to measure and analyze the custom injected plastic parts we produce utilizing our portable Romer Portable CMM with Integrated Scanner. This combination enables i2-tech to provide seamless contact and non-contact measurement data to our customer’s complex forms.
With a staff of over 95 years combined experience, i2-tech has the right combination of tools and knowledge to assist our customers in making plastic solutions that are efficient and profitable.
Additional analytical capabilities include de-gating fixture design & build, accurate color analysis of finished parts, moisture analysis of molded and raw resins, raw resin melt flow characteristics, and DOE studies.
